3. Giant Steps - Local project
One of our members, Magda Grzechowiak, BA, BEd, MEd is the Director of Pedagogical Services, Giant Steps School in Montreal. Last November we held our monthly meeting on site. A tour of the facilities and a presentation by Joel Yarnofsky, a Montreal author with an autistic teenage son presented his personal story on parenting and educating and life in general with an autistic child.
With autism being a growing concern in education, it has since been decided that attempt should be made to focus on giving support in this area. This began with our recent donation to Giant Steps.
